Caribbean Airlines ATR-72 hit a wall while under maintenance at Piarco International Airport in Trinidad, last night at 10:30 pm.
According to local media, the maintenance crew was taxiing the aircraft to the hangar, and it ran into the wall near the baggage holding area, hitting an Airport Authority sign.
“What we saw is the aircraft lost power, the propeller cut off immediately and the aircraft started to drift on the runway and it seemed like they weren’t getting brakes.” said the eyewitness
Aircraft was severely damaged, but no injuries were reported.
